Vodka Sour

This classic vodka sour is tart and refreshing with a thick foam and sweet finish. It’s naturally gluten-free and can also be modified to vegan.

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces (1/4 cup or 60 ml) vodka
  • 3/4 ounce (1.5 tablespoons or 23 ml) lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 3/4 ounce (1.5 tablespoons or 23 ml) lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 1/2 ounce (1 tablespoon or 15 ml) simple syrup
  • 1 dash Angostura bitters
  • 1 large pasteurized egg white or 2 tablespoons aquafaba for vegan
  • ice
  • lemon wheel and maraschino cherry for garnish, optional

Instructions

  • Combine the vodka, lemon juice, lime juice, simple syrup, angostura bitters, and egg white or aquafaba in a cocktail shaker. Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for 30 seconds, or until the outside of the shaker is frosty. (To achieve more form do a dry shake, see post instructions).
  • Fill a lowball glass with ice. Strain the cocktail into the glass and garnish with a lemon wheel and maraschino cherry. Enjoy immediately.
